ANDRY

Andry Jose Hernandez Romero sought asylum in the U.S. in 2024 and forcibly disappeared to the CECOT prison in El Salvador without due process in his asylum proceedings. He spent four months in a torture prison and suffered physical, sexual, and psychological abuse. On July 23, after 125 days of torture, he was reunited with his family in Venezuela after a prisoner exchange between the United States, El Salvador, and Venezuelan governments. Immigrant Defenders Law Center continues to seek justice in his immigration proceedings in the United States and will hold the Trump administration accountable to the terror they caused our clients through the Alien Enemies Act disappearances to CECOT.
